Chili Made Using Just Five Ingredients

Looking for a no-fuss, full-flavored, simple chili recipe to heat up in a hurry Try my 5-ingredient chili recipe  It comes ready in only 30 minutes and contains all of those comforting chili tastes we all adore. Feel free to use your preferred kind of beans and protein here (ground beef or plant-based ground “meat” would both work)

5-Ingredient Easy Chili Recipe 

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (15 ounce) can chili beans, not drained
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder, or to taste
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef  in the heated skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes.

Step 2

Stir in kidney beans, chili beans, and tomato sauce. Bring to a boil and whisk in chili powder. Reduce heat to a simmer, and cook, stirring periodically, until thickened, approximately 15 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

NOTES

If using ground turkey, you will need to heat a tablespoon of olive oil prior to help cook and brown the turkey, and then add an extra tablespoon of oil to sauté the onion.

You can also prepare this in the slow cooker.  You only need to brown your meat on the pan and drain it before putting the meat to your slow cooker.  Then slow simmer the chili on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
