What are the components for a biscuit-based breakfast casserole
The supermarket's sausage section has a can of jumbo biscuits next to the chilled cinnamon buns and pie crust.
Eggs: morning sausage or milk Italian sausage.
I used 1% milk, but full milk or 2% will also work.
Cheese: Colby Jack or sharp cheddar shreds.
Line the bottom of the baking dish with the biscuit dough, pressing it down firmly. You may need to cut some biscuits in half to fit them. Perfection is not required because the biscuits will fill in as they bake. In a frying pan, cook and shred the sausage until it has browned. Drain the oil. Evenly distribute the meat on top of the biscuit dough. In a bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
Bake for twenty-five to thirty minutes. Cover with foil if the top begins to get brown. Give it five minutes to stand. Before serving, make squares.
