Every year, I send out superintendency packages of holiday goodies to faraway friends and family. And withal with all the Christmas cookies, I like to include at least one non-cookie treat. It could be a snacks or a crunchy, salty snack – just a little something for variety.

This year, I’ve decided on a treat that’s both a snacks and a crunchy, salty snack. It includes the archetype holiday savor pairing of chocolate and peppermint…and the moreover archetype philharmonic of chocolate and caramel…and oh yes, the trendy taste of caramel touched with salt.

Sweet and salty, sticky and crunchy, these Christmas Caramel Pretzel Bites are everything you could want in a snack. They make a welcome wing to any Christmas goodie box, or to the storeroom table at your next holiday gathering.

Recipe Notes:

  • Pretzel Selection: Choose snap pretzels that are uniform in size for plane sultry and a neat presentation.
  • Snickers Handling: If your mini Snickers bars are soft, nippy them in the fridge for a bit surpassing using to make them easier to handle.
  • Melting Chocolate: When melting almond bark, stir commonly to stave burning. If using a microwave, heat in short bursts and stir in between.

Christmas Caramel Pretzel Bites

  1. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
    Take half of the snap pretzels, lay them out on the sheet pan.
  2. Place a mini Snicker bar on each pretzel.
  3. Bake in the oven for 3-4 minutes or until the chocolate starts to melt and the inside is soft.
  4. Quickly remove from the oven and place the remaining half of the pretzels on top of the melted snacks bars. Gently printing lanugo to create a sandwich of pretzel with the snickers bar in-between.
    Place in the freezer to nippy for 15 minutes.
  5. In the meantime, use a double triviality or microwave to melt the almond bark.
  6. Once the pretzel bites have set, remove them from the freezer and dip only half of each pretzel zest into the melted white chocolate.
  7. Sprinkle the pretzel bites with crushed snacks canes and/or festive sprinkles, optional, while the chocolate is still hot.
  8. Place the pretzel bites when on the sheet pan to let the chocolate set (about 20-30 minutes).
  9. Use a nice plate to serve the final product.

  • 60 snap pretzels
  • 30 mini Snickers bars I used a 9.7 ounce bag
  • 1 cup almond bark about 4 squares of bark
  • ¼ cup crushed snacks canes optional garnish
  • Festive sprinkles optional garnish
